Speed, Strength, and Fitness Opportunities

While weight room staff organizes in-season and off-season training for AQ athletic teams, there are other opportunities for student participation.
  • Speed and agility training is offered in two sessions after school in the Field House on Wednesdays and Fridays. Session I is from 3:20 - 3:45 p.m. and is geared toward middle school students. Session II is from 3:50 - 4:15 p.m. and is geared toward high school students. Students will work on techniques to improve speed, quickness and agility.
  • The all-girls training group is open to girls in grades 7-12 with a focus on off-season athletes, but any female student interested in improving her health is welcome. The group trains Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:50 - 5:00 p.m. and offers a mix of speed and agility, and weight lifting training.
  • The 6th grade training group meets Wednesdays and Fridays until 4:00 p.m. This group focuses on safety, form, and weight room etiquette. They also have a lot of fun!
These programs are essential to the health and athletic success of students and student-athletes. Aquinas' weight room staff is trained on the most up-to-date and effective training techniques, which saves families time and money by not having to pursue training elsewhere.  In-season lifting is required and off-season lifting, while not required, is expected.  Please encourage your child to join a group!
