About AQ

President's Welcome

Dear Friends and Members of the Aquinas Community:

Since 1902, The Aquinas Institute of Rochester has prepared more than 19,000 graduates to be leaders in our community and beyond. Through a college preparatory, co-educational school setting, the Aquinas family inspires students in grades 6 – 12 to learn and grow. Our team of educators fosters growth through the charism of the Congregation of Saint Basil (“Basilian”) drawing from Psalm 119, the principles of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge.

Now, more than ever, the world needs institutions like The Aquinas Institute, which challenge young men and women, and help them understand their goals for the future. We are committed to developing young people of faith, integrity, character, and leadership. Our faculty and staff are devoted to the success of each child with a focus on these key areas:

*Faith Formation – through the Basilian motto to “Teach me goodness, discipline, and knowledge,” students develop Christian values and character.

*Academic Excellence – strong academic rigor preparing each student for college with critical thinking skills and a desire for life-long learning.

*Model Citizenship - service, leadership, and making an impact are hallmarks of an Aquinas student.

Additionally, the Aquinas community provides students with countless opportunities to be involved, whether it be in dance, art, music, clubs, or as members of our athletic program. The experiences our students share and the friendships that they form are gifts that last a lifetime.

The resources and facilities at Aquinas offer students state-of-the-art education in a traditional and historical setting. With over $20 million in facility improvements since 2003, including the latest in computer technology, a new fine arts center, library and a new athletic complex, the campus at Aquinas has been modernized to enhance our students’ experience.
