DECA Students Attend Regional Competition

Four advance to International Career Development Conference
Students who participate in Aquinas’ DECA club attended the Region 10 High School DECA competition held at RIT on Thursday, December 19.

The seventeen Aquinas students presented business plans to local business leaders who served as competition judges. The business plans focused on Personal Financial Literacy, Apparel & Accessories Marketing, Entrepreneurship (individual), Food Marketing, Sports & Entertainment Marketing (individual), Principles of Marketing, Entrepreneurship (team), and Sports & Entertainment Marketing (team).

Francesca Delaney ’20, McKenzie Bugbee ’20, Evan Cecere ’20 and Jordan Loverde ’20 each placed within the top five of their category and will automatically advance to the DECA International Career Development Conference in April.

All other DECA students will have another opportunity to qualify for the International Conference at the State DECA Competition to be held in Rochester this March.

DECA, an association of marketing students, enhances the preparation for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs for specific career objectives in marketing, management, or entrepreneurship that integrate into classroom instruction, apply learning in the context of business, connect to business and the community, and promote competition.
