Meet the Teacher Tuesday
Meet Mr. Gene Oberst!
Aquinas history teacher Gene Oberst is no stranger to Catholic education – he not only attended Catholic schools as a child, but has been teaching in them for 46 years (30 of which have been at AQ!). With such a long career, it’s common now for Mr. Oberst to teach students whose parents once sat in his classroom. He even had the pleasure of teaching (most of) his own five children, all of whom are AQ alums. When it comes down to it though, Mr. Oberst says that one of the most special things about teaching in Catholic schools is “that element that there’s something more than just the curriculum and that almost anything you teach can be found in some type of gospel value.” Meet Mr. Oberst!
