Five of Aquinas Institute’s exceptional senior scholar athletes were recognized at the Private-Parochial Banquet held at Red Fedeles Brookhouse on Tuesday, May 22. Representing Aquinas was Cameron Cecere, Casey Hochheimer, Kayla Jackson, Alana Piano, and Travasia Singletary.
Cam Cecere (98 GPA): All-Greater Rochester Honorable Mention (lacrosse); First Team All-Conference Midfielder; National Honor Society member; student body President; involved in DECA Club, Peer Ministry, and AQ Student Ambassador program. He will attend John Carroll University next year.
Casey Hochheimer (91 GPA): Three season athlete (football, indoor track, lacrosse), Black Lion Award recipient (football), First Team All-League (lacrosse), First Team All-League (indoor track). He will attend Hobart College next year to play lacrosse.
Kayla Jackson (93 GPA): Three-time All-Greater Rochester First Team pick (basketball), scored 1,000th point her sophomore year, three-year team captain (basketball and volleyball), Women's Leadership and two-time Principal’s Club Member. She will attend UMBC on a full scholarship for basketball next year.
Alana Piano (89 GPA): Two-time All-Greater Rochester pick (soccer), all-time leading goal scorer in Aquinas history, First Team All-State and Class B Player of the Year (soccer), All-Independent Team pick (lacrosse), and National Honor Society Member. She will attend Duquesne University to play lacrosse next year.
Travasia Singletary (94 GPA): Three season athlete (cheer, track, soccer), All-Greater Rochester pick (track), MVP for Section V jumps, placed second at states two times (outdoor track), three-time Jr. Olympics participant. She will attend the University of Buffalo next year.
