Bushen '22 Wins Young Women of Distinction Award

Congratulations to Gwen Bushen ’22 on receiving the Young Women of Distinction Award from the Women’s Council of Monroe County West! This award is presented to high school seniors who demonstrate exceptional leadership and a true commitment to community service.

Gwen is actively engaged in many clubs and organizations at Aquinas including Women’s Leadership and
National Honor Society. Currently, she is the chief yearbook editor, an alumni office intern, student ambassador, and a peer minister leading service projects and school activities, which Gwen said has helped her become an efficient leader. Gwen excels in the classroom as well. Since 2019, she has been in the top 5% of her graduating class.

"Receiving this award is such an honor," said Gwen. "I feel very grateful to be recognized and I encourage everyone to become more involved in their school and community! Everyone nominated had such huge accomplishments. It is inspiring to see such an incredible and involved group of women!"

When Gwen graduates from Aquinas in June, she will attend the University of Akron where she will pursue history and teaching.
