Senior High Dance Company Showcase

Choreography by Ellie Sapienza '21
Message from Aquinas dance teacher, Kristie Schillaci:

Although we were unable to hold a dance concert as we normally do in January, our dancers have been working very hard in their Dance Company class. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be in-person at Aquinas, and to be able to dance each day with these young ladies.

Our first semester was geared toward student choreography. Each student was assigned to come up with original choreography to potentially be set on their classmates. Students had to come up with a style of dance, music, and choreography of their own. They learned how to edit music and learned how to move dancers through space using dance notation. At the end of the project, Ellie Sapienza '21, was chosen to teach her classmates her movement, and watch it come to life on stage.

Please enjoy the work of our Senior High Dance Company in the following video. To say I am proud, would be an understatement. All of these dancers did an amazing job on this project. It is truly awesome to see so much creativity coming from such talented young people.
