DECA Students Compete at NYS Career Conference

Aquinas DECA students competed in the New York State Career Conference at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center Wednesday through Friday, February 26-28.  Roughly 4,000 high school business students from all over New York State came to compete in over 50 different competitive events. 
 
Aquinas had a great showing at States according to DECA moderator Steve Skidmore. The eight representatives included McKenzie Bugbee, Evan Cecere, Marisa Del Corvo, Erin Fantauzzo, Allie Gatti, Alex Klimasewski, Jordan Loverde and Mason Mondo.
 
McKenzie Bugbee and Francesca Delaney competed together in the Entrepreneurship category, placing in the top ten. 
 
Allie Gatti and Erin Fantauzzo also placed in the top ten in the Sports & Entertainment Marketing category.

DECA, an association of marketing students, enhances the preparation for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs for specific career objectives in marketing, management, or entrepreneurship that integrate into classroom instruction, apply learning in the context of business, connect to business and the community, and promote competition.
