DECA Students Win at Regional Competition

The Aquinas Institute DECA team had great results at the Regional High School DECA Competition held recently at Rochester Institute of Technology.

After presenting their business plans to local business leaders who served as competition judges, Aquinas won in the categories of Travel & Tourism, Business Law & Ethics, and Entrepreneurship.

Winning members now have the opportunity to travel and compete in the 2019 International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida this spring. Students who did not qualify for this competition at Regionals will have another opportunity to do so at the State DECA Competition to be held in Rochester in March.

DECA, an association of marketing students, enhances the preparation for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs for specific career objectives in marketing, management, or entrepreneurship that integrate into classroom instruction, apply learning in the context of business, connect to business and the community, and promote competition.
