National Women & Girls in Sport Day Essay Contest

Female students are invited to participate in the 10th Annual National Girls and Women in Sport Day Essay Contest. This contest – sponsored by St. John Fisher College on behalf of the Women’s Sports Foundation – is a way to raise awareness at a local level about National Girls and Women in Sport Day (February 6, 2019), which celebrates the achievements of women in sport and encourages women of all ages to participate in sport and physical activity.
The flyer that provides the essay themes for this year and outlines the requirements for submission can be downloaded and printed here: https://sportforeverygirl.com/essay-contest-guidelines/
Winners will be selected by the National Girls and Women in Sport Day (NGWSD) committee at St. John Fisher and will be announced on their website on February 6, 2019.  Awards will be mailed out to individual winners.
Submissions must be postmarked or emailed to ngwsd@sjfc.edu no later than January 31, 2019.  If you would like more information regarding the essay contest, please contact Emily Dane-Staples, Associate Professor of Sports Studies, at (585) 899-3808 or send an email to ngwsd@sjfc.edu.
