Middle School Grandparents Day 2018

On Thursday, October 18, Aquinas had the pleasure of welcoming over 200 grandparents to campus for the third annual Middle School Grandparents Day. Students in grades 6-8 were eager to show their grandmas, grandpas, nanas and poppas what a day at Aquinas is like.

The morning began with a prayer service, sweet and funny student reflections, and a reflection by Judge Joseph Valentino ‘64, who is an Aquinas alumnus, the father of four alumni, and grandfather to three current Aquinas students.

Grandparents accompanied their grandchildren to two classes and had the opportunity to participate in classroom activities, some of which included an improv theatre game, sketching in art class and a history-based Jeopardy game.

This family event continues to grow year over year and the feedback from the grandparents and students lets us know that this is a worthwhile celebration. Grandparents play an important role in many of our students’ lives and we believe that’s something worth celebrating.
We'd like to thank everyone who attended on behalf of an Aquinas middle school student and those who made the day, and the memories, possible.

Photographer Al Mosher captured many of the sweet moments shared between grandparents and grandchildren and has kindly shared a link for all to see. We hope you take some time to check them out and please feel free to download any that you’d like to keep or print.
