French Students Experience French Culture

Quebec & Montreal trip a success
The Aquinas French Club had a MERVEILLEUX voyage to Quebec and Montreal over Spring Recess. Our tour started at La Citadelle, where our lively guide—Jerod—taught us about the battles fought & how cold it was for the British soldiers, who were not used to that kind of weather. Afterward, students practiced their French in various shops & restaurants in Vieux (Old) Quebec.

We also visited Montmorency Falls (which are higher than Niagara Falls), and made a stop at St. Anne de Beaupre Basilica, where those that were healed had left their crutches and canes, lined up on the wall. That was an amazing sight!

We had a FANTASTIQUE time at le Chemin du Roy sugar shack, where we learned how to play the spoons as musical instruments, sang, danced, and ate an eight course meal, complete with maple syrup on almost everything!

We traveled to Montreal, where we saw the Notre Dame Basilica where Celine Dion was married. Its beauty was absolutely breathtaking, and we had the pleasure of hearing the organist play.

On the last day in Quebec, we toured the iconic hotel, Chateau Frontenac, with professional guides who gave us the complete history. A FABULEUX time was had by all, and we made memories to last a lifetime! VIVE CANADA!
