As we approach the second semester it is a great time to help our students evaluate and assess their first semester growth and learning. At Aquinas we pride ourselves on being a team and we want you and your student to know how important each and every day is. Every day is an opportunity for all of us to be accountable for our learning and to grow from each other both in the classroom and beyond. Over the past semester, Aquinas students have shown time and again that they are capable of conquering amazing feats. To be the best we must continually work as a team and approach each day and each classroom as an opportunity to be our absolute best.
May we all have a fantastic second semester and be excited every day to OWN YOUR EDUCATION!
Please note the Bookstore hours will be changing for the second semester. Beginning Monday, January 28 the bookstore will be open on Monday and Thursday during lunches 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The bookstore will no longer be open before or after school.
Midterm exams will take place from January 17-25. Most districts will provide morning and afternoon busing at the usual time during exams. There is no mid-day transportation provided to Aquinas. Some districts will provide a mid-day bus home. See schedule below. If you need to be bussed home from a morning exam, please inform your morning bus driver of that fact at least one day in advance. Districts specifically indicating the need for the driver to be notified will NOT provide transportation unless that notification occurs.
Any student taking a math exam during the midterm examination period must bring his/her own tools with them for the exam. Tools include #2 pencils, graphing calculator (already charged or new batteries have been installed), a ruler (any straightedge), a protractor (specific to Geometry), and a compass (specific to Geometry). If any student needs a specific accommodation regarding any of these materials, he/she must speak directly to Mr. Sifain.

Juniors took the PSAT/NMSQT on October 10, 2018. Students received their PSAT/NMSQT score report and test book in their English class. In class, counselors reviewed results with students and were available for questions. We encourage you to have your student review their scores with you. Students may also access their score report online and receive a free service for personalized SAT practice by linking to the Khan Academy at www.psat.org/myscore.
ATTENTION ALL FRANCOPHONES! Due to various work and sports conflicts, we are in need of more travelers to join us on our trip to Québec and Montréal April 14-19. This trip is officially open to any Aquinas student in grade 9-12 who is in good academic standing and is willing to meet with Madame Rybak after school for an approval interview. Fluency in French is NOT required to participate; just an interest in French Canadian culture, food and history! Please email Ms. Rybak email@example.com for more information.
