Annual Book and Blanket Program

Before our holiday break, the AQMS students once again embodied the spirit of Christmas as they extended their generosity to local children through the Book and a Blanket Program.
For the annual project, AQMS students made no-sew fleece blankets in their religion classes, then paired the blankets with a book and tied them with ribbon. All of the new and gently used books are donated by the students, who also raise money to purchase the fleece. Numerous parent and faculty/staff members volunteer their time to cut all the fleece. This year our students made 200 blankets to hand out to children in Pre-K-4th grade at School No. 7, located in the Maplewood neighborhood.
The Book and a Blanket Program is another way we can make a difference and make the season brighter for others in the Rochester community. Congratulations to all AQMS students, parents, faculty and staff for rising to the occasion this past Christmas season. We hope we can continue this tradition into the New Year and for years to come!
