He is Risen!

Alleluia! He is Risen.

Throughout Lent we have been reflecting, as a school, on our collective journey through Aquinas and that we are “Walking Together on Holy Ground”. It is through others that we encounter Jesus. St. Augustine reminds us that, "God loves each of us as if there were only one of us." How do we exhibit Christ’s love for us to one another?

Being able to pray together is a powerful and important part of the Aquinas experience. I hope that Holy Week provided you with an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus has made for us. On Wednesday, we gathered as a school for the Stations of the Cross before we left for spring break. This offered us a chance to be mindful of the significance of the Passion and of our faith. Being reminded of the suffering and humiliation Christ endured on our behalf is important. Christ took on our suffering and the suffering of all of humanity because of His unconditional love for us.

As we begin the Easter season, we celebrate the reality of the Risen Lord and the gift of salvation. May you all experience the love and joy of the Risen Lord. Let your joy be seen in every encounter that you have and in the way that you live your life.  May the joy of the Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ be with you in all that you encounter in this Easter season and throughout the year.

Dr. Cook and I, on behalf of the entire Aquinas community, wish you a blessed Easter.
