Aquinas Welcomes Timothy Jackson as Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach

The Aquinas Institute is proud to announce that Timothy Jackson has been named Head Coach of the Girls Varsity Basketball program.

Coach Jackson brings a unique and powerful combination of leadership experience, competitive coaching success, and lifelong service to his new role with the Li’l Irish. A 24-year veteran of the New York State Police, he also participated in recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. His career has been defined by discipline, mentorship, and a deep commitment to developing young people both on and off the court.

A proud 1980 graduate of Clyde-Savannah High School, Coach Jackson was a four-sport athlete competing in basketball, football, track & field, and baseball. He continued his basketball career at SUNY Morrisville, where he played collegiately for two seasons.

Coach Jackson brings more than a decade of high school head coaching experience, including serving as Boys Varsity Head Coach at Clyde-Savannah Central School District from 2011 to 2017 and Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at East High School from 2017 to 2020. Throughout his coaching career, he has built programs rooted in accountability, hard work, and team-first culture.

During his tenure at Clyde-Savannah, his teams achieved sustained success, including three Section V championships, two New York State quarterfinal appearances, and multiple league and county titles. His accomplishments earned him multiple Wayne County Coach of the Year honors, as well as recognition as Section V Coach of the Year.

In addition to his scholastic coaching experience, Coach Jackson brings more than 20 years of AAU coaching experience, where he has helped numerous student-athletes earn Division I scholarships. Two of his former players even went on to compete professionally in the WNBA.

Coach Jackson is widely respected for his ability to develop student-athletes as competitors, students, and leaders. His coaching philosophy emphasizes discipline, resilience, and teamwork as the foundation for long-term success.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Jackson to Aquinas,” said Athletic Director Anthony Bianchi ‘81. “His depth of experience, commitment to mentorship, and proven ability to build winning programs make him an outstanding addition to our girls basketball program.”

Coach Jackson is the proud father of three children—Tim, Bria, and Peyton—and grandfather to two granddaughters, Tessa and Callie.

We are excited to welcome Coach Jackson to the AQ family and look forward to the impact he will make on our Lady Irish!
