Matthew Landfried Returns as Head Coach of Girls Varsity Volleyball

The Aquinas Institute of Rochester is proud to announce Matthew Landfried as the new Head Coach of our Girls Varsity Volleyball Team.

A valued member of the Aquinas faculty for the past four years, Mr. Landfried teaches Global 9 Honors, 10th Grade AP World History, and Criminal Justice. His passion for student growth extends beyond the classroom and onto the court, where he has already made a meaningful impact within our athletic community.

Coach Landfried brings a strong and well-rounded coaching background in both volleyball and lacrosse.

At Aquinas, he has coached Modified Volleyball and served as an assistant for the Varsity program before taking over as Head Coach during the 2024 season, helping lead the team to a Section V Class B Championship. His additional volleyball experience includes coaching at the modified and junior varsity levels, as well as serving as a varsity head coach.

In lacrosse, Coach Landfried has accumulated 10 years of coaching experience, including six years at Batavia High School as both a JV and Varsity Head Coach, along with his current role leading the Modified Boys Lacrosse program at Aquinas.

A dedicated educator, mentor, and leader, Coach Landfried brings a strong understanding of Aquinas along with championship experience and a true passion for coaching. He is an outstanding choice to lead our Girls Volleyball program, and we look forward to what lies ahead under his leadership.
