The Aquinas Institute of Rochester was honored to serve as the host site for a special reception following the Installation Mass of Bishop John S. Bonnici at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Held in the Robert B. Wegman ’37 Field House, the reception welcomed clergy, diocesan leaders, and invited guests from across the region for an afternoon of faith, reflection, and community. It was a beautiful occasion as we officially welcomed Bishop Bonnici to the Diocese of Rochester, while also expressing our heartfelt gratitude to Bishop Salvatore R. Matano for his years of faithful leadership and service.
Our Aquinas community took great pride in being part of this significant moment in the life of the Church. Students, faculty, and staff came together to help create a warm and welcoming environment for all in attendance.
A particularly meaningful contribution came from our 8th grade students, who created a special Welcome Book filled with handwritten notes, prayers, and messages of encouragement for Bishop Bonnici. Their thoughtful words reflected the spirit of kindness and community that defines Aquinas, and served as a heartfelt introduction to our school.
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to support the Diocese in this way and to share in such a historic and joyful occasion.
Faith forever!
