Aquinas Institute Open House FAQs

Who should attend Open House?

Open House is designed for families of prospective students entering grades 6-11 who are interested in learning more about private, college preparatory education. We encourage prospective students to attend with their families so they can experience Aquinas firsthand and get a true sense of the welcoming, close-knit community that makes our school so special.

What will the evening include?

Families will enjoy guided campus tours, hear about our academic programs, faith life, fine arts, athletics, and student life, and receive detailed information about the admissions process, scholarships, and financial aid. Families will also have the opportunity to connect with current students, parents, faculty, and staff who bring the AQ experience to life.

Why Aquinas?

At Aquinas, students are known, challenged, and supported—academically, spiritually, and personally—so they graduate college-prepared and life-ready. We pride ourselves on being a family, not only during a student’s time at AQ, but long after graduation. We offer academic, athletic, and after-school programs that are distinctive and wide-ranging. Our unique programs including dance, boxing, Core team, and many other opportunities, provide a truly well-rounded experience.

If my child is not Catholic, can he/she still attend Aquinas?

Absolutely! Aquinas is a Catholic school, however we welcome students of all faith traditions and backgrounds. Aquinas students are required to take a religion/theology class each year, attend monthly school-wide masses, attend the annual class retreat, and complete required service hours.

What is tuition, and what if we are concerned about affordability?

Tuition and fees for the 2026-2027 school year are posted on our website: Tuition and fees. Fees cover the technology fee, material fees, yearbooks, orientation, theology books, PSAT fees, English novels, admission to sporting events and plays, retreats (grades 6-11), and graduation costs for seniors.

Is transportation available?

Yes! State law requires that school districts must provide transportation to students who live within 15 miles of Aquinas. A transportation form must be completed each year your child requires transportation to Aquinas and can be found on your home district’s transportation website.

What does a typical school day look like?

Aquinas runs a nine-period schedule from 8:00 a.m. until 2:44 p.m. Each period is roughly 40 minutes long.
