We are thrilled to announce the return of Wayne Zian as Head Coach of our Varsity Volleyball Team. Coach Zian previously led our volleyball program from 2000 to 2010, and we are excited to welcome him back to the place he proudly called home for over a decade.
With more than 30 years of experience as a volleyball player, assistant coach, and head coach, Coach Zian brings a deep knowledge of the game and an unmatched passion for mentoring student-athletes. His previous tenure at Aquinas, as both JV and Varsity coach, helped shape a generation of athletes, instilling in them the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and integrity—core principles that align seamlessly with the Basilian spirit of “Teach Me Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge.”
Throughout his coaching career, including roles at Harley-Allendale Columbia and Mendon High School, Coach Zian has demonstrated an exceptional ability to motivate students and foster strong relationships with players, parents, and staff. His professionalism, ethics, and dedication to personal growth on and off the court make him an invaluable leader for our student-athletes.
“We are excited to see the volleyball program thrive under Coach Zian’s leadership once again,” said Anthony Bianchi, Athletic Director. “His return is more than a hire—it’s a homecoming.”
Please join us in welcoming Coach Zian back to Aquinas!
