Going the Distance with AQ Distance Learning

When we started the school year in September, no one could have predicted that come spring, our faculty would be teaching from their homes and students would be transforming their kitchen tables and bedrooms into classrooms. Needless to say, we are in unprecedented times.

With two days to review Aquinas' distance learning plan, our teachers and students were off and running - learning new content, and continuing to thrive despite the circumstances. Weeks later, it is evident that for the duration of distance learning, Aquinas faculty and students are prepared to go the distance in ensuring that our virtual learning community carries on with our tradition of excellence.
Here, we highlight some of the excellence we've seen so far.

Mrs. Baschnagel

6th grade teacher Mrs. Baschnagel created her own YouTube channel called Math & Science with Mrs. B! The care and creativity that went into creating the channel is to ensure her students continue to thrive while learning from a distance.

AIS Team

Mr. McDaniels, Mr. Bostick, Mrs. Loria, and Mr. Sutton started a new tradition called, “Friday Morning Donuts”. Each Friday at 9:00 a.m., the AIS team chats with students via Zoom to see what non-school things they’re up to, and tell funny stories. Students who make the adults laugh get donuts when campus reopens!

AQ Morning Update

In keeping up with regular routines, sophomore Lucas Sherron is producing AQ Morning Update: Home Edition. The daily news program produced by AQ students will now be broadcast once a week until campus reopens. Stay up to date with announcements from students, teachers, and administration.
