New York Theatre Educators Student Conference

Theatre students travel to the Catskills

Fifteen Aquinas Theatre students, along with Mrs. Mary Krickmire, Director of Theatre and Ms. Sarah Spindler, AQ teacher and costume designer, traveled to Callicoon, NY in the Catskills over the January 6^th - 8^th weekend for the New York Theatre Educators Student Conference (NYSTEA). Aquinas has been attending the conference since 1997 and it’s an opportunity for students to attend workshops from Theatre professionals from New York City, as well as audition/interview with college Theatre programs from across the state. Some of the courses available were costuming, playwriting, social activism in theatre, makeup, fight choreography, and many others. Approximately 800 students attend the conference each year.
