AQMS Angels Raise $506

Purchase presents for six area children
The annual Aquinas Middle School Angels project raised an impressive $506 this year, which will be used to purchase Christmas gifts for six underprivileged children in our area.

The names of the children who will receive the gifts come to us from the Angel Tree at St. John the Evangelist Church in Greece. Each child on the Angel Tree lists one to two items they would like for Christmas. Earlier this week, AQMS Student Government members took the proceeds from their fundraiser and fulfilled the wish lists of the six children.

To raise the money, AQMS Student Government sold candy cane grams for $1 during their lunch periods. Candy cane grams are a Christmas message written to someone in the school that is then attached to a candy cane and delivered to that person the day before Christmas break.

This project is a wonderful example of how we can all make a difference and help to make the season brighter for others in the Rochester community.
