Page '62 Selected for NYS High School Girls Soccer Hall of Fame

It is with great pleasure that we announce former women’s soccer coach and Aquinas alumnus, Gary Page ’62, will be inducted (posthumously) to the first ever class of the NYSSCOGS New York State High School Girls Soccer Hall of Fame.

 

Gary began coaching women’s JV soccer at Aquinas in 1989 and one year later, was named head varsity soccer coach. In his 15 seasons coaching, Gary’s teams earned seven consecutive Section V titles and went to six consecutive state finals, which resulted in three New York State Championships. In 1999, the Lady Irish Soccer Team was ranked 15^th in the nation.

 

Other honors include being named All Greater Rochester Coach of the Year by the Democrat and Chronicle in 1999 and being elected NSCAA Regional and National Private/Parochial Soccer Coach of the Year in 2000. Gary was inducted to the Aquinas Hall of Fame in 2001. 

 

The NYSSCOGS New York State High School Girls Soccer Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held at the Mudville Sports Complex in Herkimer, NY on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
